The Inbox Magazine on Astronomy News, Sky Events, and Astronomy in Everyday Life

A twice-monthly newsletter that began May 2021, and that:
* brings the most interesting news stories (This Just In) which connect to the current night sky,
* Sky-Lites covers the Solar System happenings in the sky,
* For the Future–upcoming events you should be aware of,
* Deeper Looks–detailed look at one topic,
* and the quirky findings of Astronomy in Everyday Life.
The Galactic Times also offers other occasional features and articles including travel stories with an astronomical bent, software information, and other things…the universe is vast…..
Many stories come from the latest news in world astronomy conferences and journals. All the stories are authoritatively written by astronomer, journalist and educator Dr. Larry Krumenaker.

Galactic Times Books on General Astronomy
May 2026–The Galactic Times provides its name to the new Astronomy Book Division of Hermograph Press!

Galactic Times Books’ first astronomy book is at the printer and intends to be shipped around June 1st! It is called From Out of the Sky and is on the Basics of Meteors and Meteoritics, using Alabama’s unique and unusual heritage–the Deep South’s only meteor crater, an event when a woman was hit by a 9-pound meteor and lived to tell the tale, and the origin of the state’s license plate motto, “Stars Fell on Alabama”. Then more serious discussion on how and when to watch meteors and meteor showers, how to tell a meteorite from an Earth Rock, fireballs and how to watch them and what you can learn by doing so! And more!
